This web site is www.michaelhorowitz.com. The name "michaelhorowitz.com" is referred to, on the Internet, as a domain. Other domains are nypc.org, yahoo.com and google.com. The domain does not include the "www".

Yahoo and Google are companies. NYPC is a large group. I'm a computer nerd. If you are none of these things, why do you need your own domain? Is it just the Internet equivalent of a vanity license plate?

Having you own domain can be very useful:

By owning it, you are at the least, reserving it, so that no one else can use it. There are a lot of Michael Horowitz's.
You can, optionally, get email with it. For example, michael@michaelhorowitz.com or treasurer@nypc.org. For a business, email at your own domain looks much more professional than an AOL email address.
Needless to say, you can also get a web site with it. This too, is optional.
Your email address is insulated from ISP changes. Many many people still pay America Online $24 a month simply because they don't want to lose their AOL email address which everyone knows. Changing email addresses is a pain. However, once you have your own domain, you will never need to change your email address again. I can be reached with michael@michaelhorowitz.com, regardless of the company I work for or the Internet Service Provider I use.
And it can cost under $10 a year!

Paid to ReadPaid to read services are websites in which you "opt-in" to recieve e-mails from a given website, and as incentive for people to read these e-mails, the companies will pay them a portion of the advertisers commission. It is a win-win for the advertisers, the company providing the services, and the person reading the paid e-mails who is making easy money online. The price per e-mail ranges from $.02 to $.10 for the websites I will link below. There are many scam sites on the web for paid to read that will sell your information to spam companies and as a result you will end up with a flooded inbox and no money for their efforts. I've only found two good paid to read sites so far, but both have a good track record for payment and sticking to their anti-spam policies. Other websites may offer more paid to read e-mail sites, from my experience most sites will link to services just to get money for the referrals rather than espousing their true opinions of a company, use them at your own risk. To more efficiently go through emails etc. I'd suggest that you use Firefox with the Google toolbar.Hits4Pay
This website is great as well, it does not offer any additional services yet if you just want to click on e-mails and get paid, this is the website for you. They pay a fixed rate of $.02 per email, yet I typically get more paid e-mails from them than I do InboxDollars so it works out. If you want to make money online without putting in much effort it can't possibly get easier than this.
